NOTE: Unlike previous releases, (the antimusic consort) has chosen to present this piece without any accompanying statement. The following text is Aerodynamics International's documentation of the release.
"Breezy" stands as a unique document in (the antimusic consort)'s catalog - a live recording that captures the group in a rare moment of direct performance. The piece is played by a quartet configuration (two pianos, digital percussion, and keyboard/mixer), recorded at a private event in early 2024; this performance represents their first documented live appearance since the reorganization and most recent incarnation of the group.
The titular phrase, spoken during a particular climactic moment in the performance, encapsulates their characteristic approach: it disperses into the air (like smoke), breaking into patterns too deliberate to be accidental - too accidental to be deliberate. The two pianos move in and out of synchronization throughout the piece, each following their own tempo while constantly seeking convergence. These moments of alignment, when found, carry weight precisely because of their transience. The piece oscillates between passages of pathos-tinged piano interplay and explosive, yet desaturated, segments of post-dubstep and footwork-influenced electronics.
The specific membership of this quartet iteration of (the antimusic consort) has, in keeping with their organizational principles, already ceased to exist in this configuration. We are currently unable to provide additional information about the private event where this recording was made nor any possible attendees - neither can we confirm the current status or membership of the performing group.
